With combined experience of over 100 years of teaching experience in the Midlothian community, GEMA Grand Masters and Masters provide you with the best Taekwondo program available. Founded in 1987, Gentle East has and always will be focused on providing the Midlothian community with the best environment for students to learn Taekwondo and Leadership skills so that they in turn have a positive impact on the community. Both Grand Masters are 7th Degree Kukkiwon Black Belts and have a passion for sharing their Taekwondo knowledge with the students. Grand Master Bernard Robinson shares his experiences as an International Tournament Referee with students studying Olympic Style Sparring. Grand Master Barbara Robinson leads our Mothers’ Morning of Martial Arts (MMOMA) program.

4th Degree Master Eric Rangel-Ribeiro is the only Para Taekwondo Certified instructor in the area and has developed and teaches a Special Abilities Taekwondo Program at James River and Midlothian High Schools. He also teaches our Little Dragon Program as well as White through Black Belt Classes.

4th Degree Master Joshua Fracker enjoys working with students of all ages and ranks. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences as a student, instructor and former competitor. He leads our Sparring classes and our Demonstration Team.

GEMA Games

The Spring 2016 GEMA Games On April 23, 2016, Gentle East Martial Arts will host the next GEMA Games, the school’s popular in-house tournament. The Spring 2016 GEMA Games will feature competition in Gyoroogi (sparring), Poomsae (forms), and Kyukpa (board breaking).
